FireFlies Energy Solutions ("FireFlies", "we", "us") operates an online marketplace that connects homeowners and businesses in Zimbabwe with verified solar installers, and facilitates applications for solar financing through partner financial institutions.

Homeowners and visitors: name, email address, phone number, location, and the contents of enquiries you send through the platform.

Installers: business and contact details, company registration information, licensing and accreditation documents, insurance certificates, and portfolio images submitted during the application process.

Financing applicants: identity information (including national ID), contact details, employment and income information, and supporting documents required to assess a financing application. This is sensitive personal information and is handled with additional safeguards.

To connect you with verified solar installers and respond to your enquiries.

To verify installer credentials, including validation against ZERA records.

To process and assess financing applications together with our partner financial institutions.

To operate, secure and improve the platform, and to communicate service updates.

Installers receive only the enquiry details you choose to send them. We never share your identity documents or financial information with installers.

Financing partners receive the information needed to assess your application, with your consent.

Service providers that help us run the platform (hosting, database, authentication, customer relationship management and email delivery) process data on our behalf under data processing agreements. Some of these providers store data outside Zimbabwe (including in South Africa and the European Union); by using the platform you consent to these transfers, which are protected by contractual safeguards.

We do not sell your personal information to anyone.

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above, or as required by law. Financing application records may be retained for longer periods where financial regulations require it.

Under the Cyber and Data Protection Act [Chapter 11:12], you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to request correction of inaccurate information, to object to certain processing, and to request deletion where we no longer have a lawful basis to keep it.

Information is encrypted in transit. Identity and financial documents are stored with restricted access and are reviewed only by the team assessing your application. No method of storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the data.

We may update this policy as the platform evolves. The latest version will always be available on this page, with the date below.
